Complaint What Happened Over the past two years, my credit rating has dropped XXXX points due to a poor rating from Navient Student Loans, now Aidvantage. In XXXX, during the XXXX pandemic, when my student loan payments were suspended by the federal government, XXXX reported XXXXhe following monthly payment to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX as late/deliquent : XX/XX/XXXX ; XX/XX/XXXX : XX/XX/XXXX ; XX/XX/XXXX ; XX/XX/XXXX ; and XX/XX/XXXX. To correct this error, I contacted Navient/Aidvantage by phone XXXX XXXX, XXXX to have the incorrect information remove. I was informed by a XXXX representative that I had to contact the 3 credit bureaus, as XXXX took no responsibility for the misinformation. Therefore, on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I filed online credit report complaints with XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. About 5 days later, the 3 credit bureaus informed me by email that the erroneous information would not be removed because it was reported to the bureaus by XXXX. Therefore, I was instructed to contact XXXX to have the incorrect information removed. However, as stated previously, I had already contacted XXXX before filing online complaints with the 3 credit bureau. Essentially, the 3 credit bureaus and XXXXAidvantage are not taking responsibility for the incorrect information that dropped my credit rating.

Complaint What Happened In XXXX 2024 I received notification from Aidvantage that my scheduled payment had not been received ; and I contacted the loan servicer to inquire about the issue. I was provided with information again stating that the payment was not received. The company I work for makes the payment to the loan servicer as part of my salary benefit package ; after speaking with the agency Financial Director inquiries were made to their financial institution to file a chain of custody inquiry. The financial institution provided the agency with a copy of the endorsed and cleared check provided to Aidvantage ; which was forwarded to the loan servicer. When I have again on multiple occasions attempted to contact and resolve this issue of the supposed missing payment ; I have been given the run around and provided with the answer that the payment must not have been made because they have no record of it even though I have supplied them with multiple copies of that and other payments which have been made to the loan servicer on my behalf. The customer service agents for Aidvantage state they can not tell me who endorsed or deposited the cleared check because they do not have actual account numbers. I feel as though I am being discriminated against due to my XXXX American heritage and Aidvantage 's belief that I am irrelevant which leads to Aidvantage 's opportunistic exploitation of me as they have essentially robbed me of funds used to payback a student loan.

Complaint What Happened I called and spoke with an Aidvantage customer service representative and their supervisor on XX/XX/XXXX. I noticed that my loans did not correctly show " in school status ''. Aidvantage refused to correct it I also spoke with them about the same issue in the fall of XXXX, and it was still not corrected. I was told that I would receive a paper form to be filled out in XXXX hours. I never received the form. I sent a follow up email to Aidvantage about the ongoing problems on XX/XX/XXXX and to the US Department of Education, I have not received and email back from either. I paid to have XXXX update my status to in school and resend it to Aidvantage. Aidvantage updated XXXX of XXXX loans to show " in school ''. On XX/XX/XXXX I attempted to call them, but was told their offices were closed despite it being during normal business hours as listed on their website. I sent another email to them asking it to be fixed, but I am still being charged interest erroneously on the subsidized loans while in school, and now they want me to make payments on them, even though I should not have any payments due until I graduate.

Complaint What Happened I have enrolled with Aidvantage for auto-pay of my student loans. Both XXXX and XXXX, my automatic payments were withdrawn and applied properly to my loans. However, Aidvantage continues to claim that my account is delinquent. Basically, they took my money and then said I never paid. All of this despite my history of payments being very clear on their website. I have contacted them many times over the past month about this with no resolution, despite their admitting my payments were made and there was an error on their end. They still show my account as being delinquent.

Complaint What Happened Overall, my student loans are more than my home. They say that I owe {$180000.00} + with my monthly payments being more than {$2000.00}. My monthly income is only {$3000.00}. Complaint What Happened On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted my first student loan payment in full of {$53.00} to Aidvantage. I never got an email saying my payment was denied. I checked my account on XX/XX/XXXX, and noticed it was saying I was late on my {$53.00} and was issued a delinquent warning for my credit. I then decided to submit a new payment of {$100.00}, to cover the late amount and the same amount for XXXX. Today, XX/XX/XXXX I checked my account again, and that payment was also rejected stating, Unable to locate account. I double checked my banking information, and it is all correct, but theyre are reversing the payment. I now have two notices for delinquent warnings when I have made my payment on time and used correct banking information. I am very concerned that this will affect my credit.

Complaint What Happened It required a previous CFPB complaint to get Aidvantages attention to assist me in enrolling my loans into auto pay. Now, although my loans claim they are in auto pay, payments are not being made when my account claims it will do so. I am worried about making a manual payment since I dont know if the auto payment will be made or not. In my last CFPB complaint, I noted that calling Aidvantage would always leave you with a voicemail inbox that couldnt accept messages and it would hang up on you. I have now been on wait for more than an hour today spanning two different calls to Aidvantage. They did not fix the voicemail inbox issue, they just removed the voicemail inbox all together. Now you are just on hold with no indication of ever actually speaking to anyone. I just want to pay my loan and trust that the information provided to me by Aidvantage is accurate. Aidvantage is not permitting me to achieve either of these goals.

I have made five payments since the transfer of loan servicer from multiple bank 's ( XXXX & XXXX XXXX ) bill pay services. XX/XX/XXXX {$50.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$300.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$300.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$33.00} XX/XX/XXXX {$300.00} ( one is pending {$270.00} made directly on their website ) While on their website ( after Thursday 's payday ), discovered on Friday that I had {$82.00} in unpaid interest on my XXXX sequence loan, XXXX {$0.00}, XXXX {$0.00}. Mental math told me it should not be that high, so I did some digging. XXXX balance {$6100.00} XXXX ) 6.8 % {$1100.00} balance {$5.00} accrued interest to the XX/XX/XXXX XXXX ) 6.8 % {$2400.00} balance {$12.00} accrued interest to XX/XX/XXXX XXXX ) 6.0 % {$2500.00} balance {$11.00} accrued interest to XX/XX/XXXX total interest for 27 days {$29.00} XXXX Called on XX/XX/XXXX Friday XXXX eventually after making several selections through the phone tree it informed me that they were closed. Wrote down their hours. XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. Monday XXXX called at XXXX and held for 5 minutes without reaching a person. Needed to head into work. Called again at XXXX and held for 13 minutes without reaching a person. Tuesday XXXX called at XXXX and held for 48 minutes without reaching a person. It appears that rather than the simple single loan two step process ( 1. unpaid interest 2. unpaid principal ) they have three pages of allocation and application complexity for multiple loans ( I have a XXXX, XXXX & XXXX ). On their website discovered how to select between their five options in my account profile. None of which is exactly or clearly the best for the consumer but instead is best for a debt collector. It defaults to overpayment allocation : Highest Interest Rate- the overpayment is paid to your loan with the highest interest rate. I changed it to Lowest current balance - the overpayment is paid to your loan with the lowest current balance. Option which is not clear how they would apply - is prorate by monthly payment amount- we prorate the overpayment across all the loans you select. The calculation is based on the monthly payment amount. If the system current says I have XXXX not sure how that would work. What I would like is for the unpaid interest to be paid in full if my payment amount covers all the accrued interest across loans. This way interest does not compound on itself. Then pay down the principal amount. I deal with amortization schedules in my daily job and have worked in customer service...

Complaint What Happened When loan repayment was slated to start in XXXX of 2023 following the abatement during XXXX, my monthly payment was over 4x higher than what was calculated previously. My income has not changed. I have repeatedly tried to call the servicer to find out more information using the number displayed on their website. I am left on hold for hours at a time. Complaint What Happened On XX/XX/2023 I filed an application with Aidvantage on their website for the SAVE plan. Aside from a pop-up on the website, I never received confirmation of the application in email or letter. Further, even after submitting the application on Aidvantage, their dashboard still asks me to apply for an income-based repayment plan. To-date, XX/XX/2023 I still have not received confirmation of that application. I called Aidvantage on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to confirm whether they had received my application. Both times I was told they had no record of it, but to wait and see. On XX/XX/2023, I filed a second application with studentaid.gov for the SAVE plan. I received email confirmation of my application the same day. On my studentaid.gov dashboard, I have confirmation that I applied for a SAVE plan with a repayment of {$500.00}. On XX/XX/2023, I received an email from Aidvantage confirming my application from StudentLoans.gov had arrived. The email stated that they received an electronic application for an " Income-Driven Repayment ( IDR ) '' plan. I don't know why Aidvantage had an IDR application or why it called Studentaid.gov " StudentLoans.gov ''. The body of the email indicated Studentaid.gov. On XX/XX/2023, I received an email from Aidvantage that my " IDR plan '' was approved for {$750.00}. I reviewed the document on Aidvantage 's website which also confirmed I was enrolled in the IDR plan. The same day, I called Aidvantage. I was on hold for about XXXX minutes before a customer service representative answered. The CSR indicated I had been processed erroneously for an IDR plan, that I was eligible for the SAVE plan, and the only option was for me to re-apply for the SAVE plan. She confirmed an estimated monthly payment of {$500.00}. She processed my now third application over the phone, and told me it would be 15 business days before it would be finalized. To be clear, on Studentaid.gov, my application states I applied for the SAVE repayment plan. When I asked why my application was processed incorrectly, the CSR could not tell me. They had no information on my file about why it was processed incorrectly. She said it's usually a system issue. This issue is still not resolved. My repayment allegedly restarts on XX/XX/2023.

Complaint What Happened I applied for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I was originally with Aidvantage at the time and had my loans transferred to XXXX in XXXX of XXXX. I graduated from the XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, started working in XX/XX/XXXX and have well over the 10 years ( XXXX ) of qualifying payments. One out of three loans were forgiven for XXXX XXXX. The loan forgiven had the smallest remaining balance ( well under {$1000.00} ) and dispersed on XX/XX/XXXX. The two remaining loans total over {$89000.00} and were dispersed XX/XX/XXXX. There are missing loan payments in one system from XXXX that have not been applied to the remaining two loans. I have employment verification for this time period and was not in any type of forbearance. These missing loan payments were counted for the small loan that was forgiven, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't have been counted for the other two loans. I have called XXXX and the Federal Student Aid Ombudsman multiple times to get the missing loan payments recounted since I am over the XXXX qualifying payments. I placed the initial call to XXXX regarding the discrepancy and missing payments on XX/XX/XXXX and was given a tracking number by a supervisor XXXX # XXXX ( tracking number XXXX ) who stated she could see the missing counts in her system and that she's not sure why the counts were not applied to all of the loans. She stated it would be 30 business days for resolution and she submitted for recount. I did not get any updated count information in 30 days, and called the ombudsman who stated I needed to call XXXX for it to be addressed. I called XXXX a second time XX/XX/XXXX and discussed it with another supervisor who stated she could see those missing payments were made and that the case had been assigned to someone for the recount, and to give it another 30 days. On XX/XX/XXXX I called and discussed it again with XXXX, and was told to give it more time. I tried the XXXX chat function on XX/XX/XXXX and she stated I had to call to get it escalated. I called XXXX XX/XX/XXXX and spoke to yet another person who spoke to supervisor XXXX -- was told it would be another 1-2 weeks and that the information has been submitted to the Federal Student Aide office for over-ride. I still have not heard any information regarding this, so I called yet again XX/XX/XXXX and spoke to XXXX ( Supervisor ) and then XXXX ( Supervisor ). I am now being told that they have been awaiting information from Aidvantage to confirm that these loans have been paid. It is now in a hold status since the end of XXXX because the files have yet to be received. This is now ongoing issue 14 months after I applied for forgiveness and four months since I submitted the complaint for missing payments and no response by Aidvantage for these counts. This is completely unacceptable and poor business. Even though my loans were transferred to XXXX, this still continues to be without resolution and is now being held up by Aidvantage. ARE YOU EVEN KIDDING ME? I find it very frustrating that people who applied WELL AFTER I did are having their loans forgiven in a few months. And yet, here I sit wasting hours of my time calling without any updated counts because of a poorly run business.

Complaint What Happened Before I consolidated my student loans with a parent plus loan, I spoke with XXXX at length about it and I was told that my payments made would still count towards discharge and would remain the same. Discharge in 25 years. They gave me credit for those months and continuously reported it as such. However, when AidVantage took over they changed it and took away those credit years showing now I owe another 18 years. I complained and they refuse to change it back. I filed a complaint with Student Aid and they just referred it back to AidVantage and it won't change. So, now I'm trying to file a complaint with CFPB to see if I can get this addressed and taken care of. I'm almost XXXX XXXX XXXX. The massive interest on the student loan has grown and it will never be discharged in my lifetime if I don't have credit for the years as stated by XXXX. If I get credit for those years, I will be close to discharge.
