CCDFA ACKNOWLEDGES THE COMPLEX NATURE OF THE OF PREVENTING AND REDUCING OPIOID, METHAMPHETAMINE, AND PRESCRIPTION DRUG USE AMONG 12?18-YEAR-OLD. IN RESPONSE, THE PURPOSE OF THIS APPLICATION IS TO 1. EXPAND CURRENT LOCK BOX EFFORTS; 2. EXPAND CURRENT AT HOME DISPOSAL INITIATIVE; 3. PROMOTE THE STATIC TAKE BACK BOX(S) AND ANNUAL TAKE BACK EVENTS AND 4. ENGAGE IN A COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN USING THE CDC?S ESTABLISHED CAMPAIGN. CONTRIBUTING TO THE REDUCTION IN ACCESS TO THE COMMONLY USED OPIOID SUBSTANCES BY YOUTH IN CAMPBELL COUNTY AND RAISING AWARENESS OF THE DANGERS OF OPIOID USE AMONG THE TARGET POPULATION.CCDFA DEVELOPED THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES TO DEMONSTRATE ITS CONTRIBUTION TO OUTCOMES AND RELATED PROJECT GOALS. GOAL 1. REDUCE OPIOID, METHAMPHETAMINE, AND/OR PRESCRIPTION DRUG USE/MISUSE AMONG YOUTH.OBJECTIVE 1 (LONG TERM). BY JUNE 30, 2026, DECREASE USE OF OPIOIDS BY YOUTH AGES 12-17 AS EVIDENCED BY A REDUCTION IN REPORTED 30 DAY USE FROM 2% TO 1% AND ANNUAL USE FROM 3.25% TO 2.25% AS MEASURED ON THE BIENNIAL KIP SURVEY.OBJECTIVE 1A (SHORT TERM). BY JUNE 30, 2022, DECREASE ACCESS TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS AND OPIOIDS AMONG THE YOUTH POPULATION AGES 12-17, AS EVIDENCED BY DISTRIBUTION OF 500 LOCK BOXES AND 1,000 DISPOSAL POUCHES AS MEASURED BY DISTRIBUTION LOGS.GOAL 2. CHANGE THE CULTURE AND CONTEXT REGARDING ACCEPTABILITY OF YOUTH OPIOID/PRESCRIPTION DRUG USE/MISUSE.OBJECTIVE 2 (LONG TERM) BY JUNE 30, 2026, DECREASE ACCEPTABILITY YOUTH OPIOID/PRESCRIPTION DRUG USE AS EVIDENCED BY A REDUCTION IN REPORT PERCEPTION OF RISK OF HARM (SLIGHT/NO RISK) FROM 21% TO 16% AND MAINTAIN PERCEPTION OF PEER DISAPPROVAL (SLIGHT/NOT WRONG) AT 6% AND PERCEPTION OF PARENTAL DISAPPROVAL (SLIGHT/NOT WRONG) AT 3% AS MEASURED ON THE BIENNIAL KIP SURVEY.OBJECT IVE 2A.
