Complaint What Happened |
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against a debt collection company named RevNow - ( Employee Al XXXX ) with the information below : RevNow XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, FL XXXX I have experienced repeated violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) at their hands, which have caused significant distress.
Specifically, RevNow has engaged in the following prohibited actions : - Making repeated harassing calls to myself and contacting my family members without my permission, falsely implying they were being served legal papers.
- Calling family and friends across state lines after the above call, indicating they were looking for job references for me.
- Calling me after contacting family and friends and claiming that I had listed said family and friends on my credit application.
- Denying said actions after being questioned about the situation of being served papers to determine whether or not I am still waiting to be served papers or not.
Being convinced that they were separate issues, and after being assured there was no involvement in the paper serving call, I setup a payment plan with RevNow only to be immediately informed by my mother, my brother, my sister-in-law and a former business client that they had received the same XXXX calls back to back as well ( phone number - XXXX ).
I have attached the payment plan details which were emailed to me following the call.
These actions have not only caused me undue stress but have also negatively impacted my family life and employment during a profoundly urgent health crisis. I had left my line open to unknown numbers to be available for my daughter during an acute psychiatric crisis and the call indicated that I was being served papers, which I took to mean I was being served papers regarding her situation so I left work.
I am seeking the FTC 's assistance in investigating these practices and taking appropriate enforcement action against RevNow and what I can do about the damage this has caused me and the damage to relationships with my family and friends.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am looking forward to your swift action to address these unlawful debt collection practices.
